A-ha

A-ha is a Norwegian synth-pop band formed in Oslo in 1982 by Morten Harket, Paul Waaktaar-Savoy and Magne Furuholmen. The group rose to international prominence in the mid-1980s and became one of Norway's most commercially successful musical acts.

Their breakthrough came with the 1985 debut album "Hunting High and Low", featuring the worldwide hit "Take On Me" and "The Sun Always Shines on T.V.". The album reached number one in Norway and earned A-ha a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Further successful songs included "Hunting High and Low", "The Living Daylights", "Stay on These Roads" and "Crying in the Rain".

After a hiatus during the 1990s, A-ha returned with "Minor Earth Major Sky" in 2000, followed by "Lifelines", "Analogue" and "Foot of the Mountain". The band separated following its 2010 farewell tour but reunited in 2015 for "Cast in Steel". Their eleventh studio album, "True North", was released in 2022.

A-ha has sold more than 100 million albums and singles combined. The band also entered Guinness World Records after attracting an audience of 198,000 at Maracanã Stadium during Rock in Rio.
