Maxim H. Eshkenazy

Defined as a rising star among the contemporary generation of young conductors, Maxim Ashkenazi has been described as "energetic and intelligent" musician who conducts with "complete confidence and insight." Ashkenazi began studying violin at age of five with his father. Graduated from National Music Academy in Sofia and went on to specialize violin and orchestra conducting at the University of Southern California, USA. A graduate of several conducting schools and workshops, including Pierre Monteux School in Maine Ashkenazi was awarded the doctorate in conducting at the newly formed American Academy of Conducting at the Aspen Music Festival in the summer of 2000. Furthermore Maxim Ashkenazi is an avid sportsman and a licensed pilot. Currently lives in Southern California.
