Crowfish is a Bulgarian progressive and indie rock band formed in Varna in 1997. The band was active until 2010 and became known for its energetic sound, independent spirit and extensive touring across Bulgaria and Europe.
The band began by performing covers of influential punk and alternative rock acts such as Rancid, The Ramones, Bad Religion and Green Day, before developing its own sound and releasing the demo Unhappy Tales in 1998. Their debut album, From Crowfish to Revelation, followed in 1999.
Crowfish released several albums and EPs throughout the 2000s, including Crowfish (2002), Requiem For A Broken Heart (2003), Red Dragons (2006) and Crowfish IV (2008). Their music gained recognition beyond Bulgaria, with the band performing extensively across Europe and completing multiple tours in Germany, Austria, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, France and other countries. Their 2004 track Away became particularly popular and was nominated for a viewer's hit award at the annual MM TV Music Awards.
With their distinctive blend of progressive and indie rock and a strong live presence, Crowfish became an important name in Bulgaria's independent rock scene of the 1990s and 2000s. The band's final major tour took place in 2009 alongside Wickeda, before Crowfish disbanded in early 2010.
