He graduated from the Krastyo Sarafov Institute of Fine Arts and Sciences in 1977 in the class of Prof. Encho Halachev. He made his debut in the role of Apryanin in "Shadows" by M. Saltykov-Shchedrin on the stage of the National Theater "Ivan Vazov" in the same year.
Among his more significant roles at the National Theater are: Chushkarov in "Duel" and Fratyu in "Uncles" by Ivan Vazov, Samets in "Yerma" by Federico Garcia Lorca, the Postman in "January", Gray Toga in "Image and Likeness", Avram the Shuttle, and later Daskal Kiro in "Attempt to Fly" by Yordan Radichkov, Srechko Rozmarina and Bato in "Assembly Point" by Dušan Kovačević, Velcho in "Mother-in-law" by Anton Strashimirov, Pauncho in "The Holiday" by Nikolay Khaitov, Ordinary Man in "A Man of All Times" by Robert Bold, Danny in "American Bison" by David Mamet, Zagoretsky in "From the Mind" "The Blue Bird" by A. Griboyedov, The Bread in "The Blue Bird" by Maurice Maeterlinck, Dromio from Syracuse in "The Comedy of Errors", Puck in "A Midsummer Night's Dream", Lancelot Gobo in "The Merchant of Venice" by William Shakespeare, Shura Balaganov in "The Great Combinator" by Ilya Ilf and Evgeni Petrov, Raffaele in "Ghosts in Naples" by Eduardo de Filippo, The Watchman in "The Last Night of Socrates" by Stefan Tsanev, The Fool in "The Flight" and the Clerk in "The Suede Jacket" by Stanislav Stratiev, Volpone in the play of the same name by Ben Jonson, Simo in "To Get Under the Rainbow" by Georgi Markov, Argan in "The Pretending Sick" by Moliere, Inspector Truscott in "The Robbery" by Joe Orton, Genole in "I Pay" by Yves Zhamiak.
