Born in Plovdiv on May 22, 1984.
She completed her primary and secondary education in Plovdiv.
Higher education: graduated from the Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts (NATFIZ) in 2008, in the class of Margarita Mladenova and Ivan Dobchev.
During the 2009/10 theatre season, she appeared in the following productions: "Nirvana" by Konstantin Iliev (dir. Ivan Dobchev, Konstantin Velichkov Drama and Puppet Theatre, Pazardzhik); "The Art of Sweeping Trash Under the Rug" based on Ingmar Bergman (dir. Desi Shpatova, Konstantin Velichkov Drama and Puppet Theatre, Pazardzhik); and "To the Left of the Elevator" by Gérard Lauzier (dir. Ventsi Asenov, Stefan Kirov Drama Theatre, Sliven).
In 2009, she received an Askeer Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in Desi Shpatova's production "The Art of Sweeping Trash Under the Rug."
For the same production, she was also nominated for an Ikar Award for Best Supporting Actress. Since 2007, Irmena has modeled clothing designed by Neli Miteva for the "Boryana" brand.
Irmena has acted in one feature film and six short films, including "Nutmeg" (dir. Ema Konstantinova), which was screened at the Sofia Film Fest in 2005.
