THE WORLDWIDE HIT "LIVING DINOSAURS" RETURNS EXCLUSIVELY TO VARNA AFTER A 9-YEAR ANTICIPATION
VARNA, BULGARIA — This summer, the Sea Garden in Varna will host one of the most exciting family events of the year as the world-renowned interactive exhibition "Living Dinosaurs" makes its grand return to the Maritime Capital due to immense public demand. Having toured over 110 countries and attracted more than 16 million fans globally, the spectacular outdoor exposition will be located next to the Pantheon from June 1st to September 5th. Brought to life by Coco Agency and the Bulgarian Children's Festival in a key partnership with the Municipality of Varna and the Varna Regional Administration, this project establishes the city as a premier destination for family tourism.
In 2017, the exhibition drew over 42,000 visitors to Varna, becoming the city's top family attraction, and it now returns on an even grander scale to transport visitors millions of years back in time. The display features over 40 interactive, full-scale dinosaur figures equipped with precise animatronic movements and authentic sounds, allowing visitors to inspect the massive body of the terrifying T-Rex, get up close with a fierce Velociraptor, look up at the long neck of the giant Brachiosaurus, and watch a baby dinosaur hatch from its egg. As an exclusive experience, the bravest young explorers will also have the unique opportunity to safely ride a dinosaur for a truly unforgettable adventure.
Beyond this educational and historical journey, the surrounding festival park is designed as an active adventure zone where young enthusiasts can enjoy outdoor thrills like a zip-line, mega swings, trampolines, and massive inflatable jumping castles. Meanwhile, parents can unwind in specially designated "green" relaxation zones featuring comfortable hammocks placed in the shade.
The admission fee grants all-day access, allowing visitors to enter and leave the exhibition grounds multiple times throughout the same day. Tickets are priced at €10 for adults, €8 for children, pupils, students, and retirees, while children under 3 years old enjoy free admission. The authorized sales network allows tickets to be purchased on-site at the box offices, online at Eventim.bg, as well as at physical outlets including OMV, Bulgarian Posts, and Technopolis.
The organizers have also introduced special preferences for Varna citizens and vital social causes. To celebrate Children's Day on May 31st and June 1st, completely free access will be granted to all children from Varna. Furthermore, a "Special Monday" initiative ensures that every Monday from 10:00 to 16:00, children, parents, and grandparents who are retirees and residents of Varna enjoy completely free admission to the exhibition. In addition to these family days, the producers have provided 300 free tickets to the Municipality of Varna to support disadvantaged groups, specifically children with disabilities and children deprived of parental care.
The excitement surrounding these prehistoric giants will even spill over onto the theater stage later in the year through the autumn program of the Bulgarian Children's Festival. On October 24th at the Festival and Congress Center (FCC Varna), audiences can experience the special edition stage show "Living Dinosaurs with Nicky Stanoev," where the popular Bulgarian actor and comedian will deliver an unprecedented, comedic-educational family performance running alongside seasonal festival productions like "Frozen Heart" and "Peppa Pig".
Reflecting on the scale of the event, the production team of Coco Agency and the Bulgarian Children's Festival stated that they would like to express their most sincere gratitude to the Varna City Hall, the "Culture" Directorate, and the Varna Regional Administration for their unreserved support. They noted that thanks to these joint efforts, they are successfully bringing this global franchise back to Bulgaria and cementing Varna's position as a top-tier destination for family experiences.
