Lunen Festival presents Victor Wooten and the Wooten Brothers!
For the first time the amazing Victor Wooten is coming to Bulgaria with his amazing brothers. The Wooten Brothers are some of the most influential musicians and music educators on the planet.
Victor Wooten completely elevated the game of Bass with his incredible slapping and tapping techniques. He has five Grammys from playing with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. He is also the only bassist in the world to win “Best bassist award” from “Bass Player Magazine” more than once. He won it THREE times! Jacko Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke, Flea and many other world famous bassists - only once.
Victor Wooten is also globally known for his book “The Music Lesson”, which has impacted the lives of millions of music teachers and students. As one of the most creative educators he also teaches at the most well known contemporary music school “Berkeley college of Music” in Boston.
Joseph Wooten has been playing keyboards with the “Steve Miller Band” for the past 33 years. He has that signature keyboard sound in their hit song “Fly Like An Eagle”. Joseph sang backup vocals on Whitney Houston's first album. He is also the co-founder of a non-profit organization called "I Matter! You Matter!”. Their mission is to heal division, honor diversity, and promote the importance of ALL people...with the power of music and dialogue.
Roy “Futureman" Wooten is one of the most innovative drummers in the world. His is the creator of the unique instrument the SynthAxeDrumitar. A guitar synthesizer he customized to play with all 10 fingers as a drum kit. Now drummers around the world are starting to play the drumitar. Roy is also a five-time Grammy winner playing with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.
The oldest brother - Regi Wooten, is one of the most creative guitarists and influential music teachers in the world. First off he taught the whole family how to play when they were practically babies. By the time Victor was eight years old, the Wooten Brothers were touring with Curtis Mayfield. Many world famous guitarists have studied with Regi. He is also one of the fastest strummers and best “slap and tap” guitarists in the world.
